Spoilt for choice in Bridgwater
The choice of places to stay and to eat out in the Bridgwater area is set to widen dramatically in the next few years. The trend has been set by the Mercure group which will run a hotel being built at Eastover in the town centre by DC Homes and Investments. The Four Star hotel will have more than 100 bedrooms and a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill.
Hard on the heels of this development are plans for a hotel on the site of the former Bridgwater Hospital on Salmon Parade alongside the river. This complex, if granted consent, will include a restaurant, gym and swimming pool. On the outskirts of town nearer the southern motorway junction, approval has been given for a Holiday Inn on the Regional Rural Business Centre and a hotel on the other side of the A38, Bridgwater Gateway.
