Sedgemoor Area

Situated close to the major regional centres of Bristol and Exeter, Sedgemoor has a proud industrial heritage as well as a vibrant and diverse network of modern businesses. The District serves the main towns of Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Highbridge and Cheddar.

Watch the Invest in Bridgwater video to hear from local businesses to find out why Sedgemoor would work for your business. There are a number of key development sites available (Bridgwater Gateway, Huntspill Energy Park, Peninsula23) as well as existing business parks. Huntspill Energy Park, near Bridgwater, has been awarded Enterprise Zone status jointly with Exeter and is set to create an estimated 17,800 high value jobs over the next 25 years.

Newly completed major projects in the area include Bridgwater Police Centre, Morrisons Regional Distribution Centre, Bridgwater Community Hospital, The McMillan Theatre, Mulberry Factory and Somerset Energy Innovation Centre. In less than ten years, more than 3,600 homes have been built along with the associated infrastructure and new schools.

Bridgwater is home to the new Somerset Energy Innovation Centre which will help new and relocating companies to thrive. The Centre has flexible office space, with parking and meeting rooms and allows businesses to collaborate. Business support is provided through the Centre manager. The Innovation Centre will develop the low carbon energy supply chain cluster for Somerset and the South West, and is well placed, not only for the nuclear energy developments at Hinkley Point but also for those businesses involved in the renewables sector.

There are County Council owned enterprise units available for rent in Highbridge. The modern, light industrial and fully serviced office units come with a free tailored business support service. Somerset Enterprise Centres are part of the South West Business Centres network. For further details please contact the managing agents TDA on 0300 123 1876, info@swbusinesscentres.co.uk
